Founded in 1955 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Meyers Farms has grown from a family-run fruit and vegetable farm into a large-scale, year-round operation supplying major retailers across Canada and the United States. Today, the third-generation business includes approximately 40 acres of ornamentals under glass and more than 300 acres of outdoor fruit production.
Aron Hoff grew up on the farm and later turned his passion for growing into his role as Head Grower. Today, as Head of Operations, he works alongside his family co-owners, having led the business through a period of rapid expansion. “In the last 15 to 20 years, the growth has been exponential,” he explains. With production running 52 weeks a year, consistency across every input is critical.
Meyers Farms has worked with Berger for over 30 years — a relationship that has evolved alongside the farm’s growth. “We’ve grown to be more partners than a customer,” says Hoff. “There’s a level of trust that’s been built over time.”
Today, the team relies on Berger’s BM4 NF Wood mix for its consistency and performance. “It’s a very consistent mix—something our growers are really happy with,” Hoff notes. “That reliability is something we’ve come to count on.” At scale, that dependability helps ensure uniform crops and smooth operations across the entire business.
Beyond the product, the partnership itself plays a key role. With long-term account support and a deep understanding of the farm’s needs, Berger helps the team stay on track through both planning and peak periods. “We trust each other, and we work together to make sure our production doesn’t stop,” Hoff adds.
