Saint-Modeste (Québec), March 23, 2020 – At a time when governments are implementing policies to stem the spread of the coronavirus, at Berger, we continue to deploy every effort to protect the health and safety of our employees, our business partners and the communities. Despite the social distancing that is necessary, we are still very close to our teams and customers.

Given the seriousness of the situation, we firmly believe that we can make a real difference for the overall health of our communities. As soon as the threat of COVID-19 became apparent, we quickly formed a management committee and put in place an action plan. A comprehensive supply chain assessment was also conducted to minimize the impact on our operations and ensure stability, and we will continue to support our customers as well as the resulting food logistics cycle.

A series of measures were implemented to reduce the risk of contamination and to support employees during this period of insecurity. Since March 11, our committee has been monitoring announcements from Canadian and American government authorities, as well as public health agencies, in real time, in order to communicate clear recommendations and directives on a daily basis to our teams based in Canada and the United States.

The long-term sustainability of the company remains at the heart of our concerns and actions on a daily basis. More than ever, our team is mobilized and ready to face the challenges posed by the coronavirus.
